Parents & Friends Association

MORLEY VICTORIA PRIMARY SCHOOL

Parent Friends Association (PFA)

The PFA is a group of people who are actively involved in the life of the school.  It consists of everybody from Mums, Dads, Grandparents to Carers, teachers and friends.  One thing we all have in common are the interests of the children who attend our school and the school itself.

Throughout the academic year, we work together planning and running events to raise funds.  These funds are put back in to the school to directly benefit the children.  Here are a few examples of the types of events we run:-

Themed Discos (Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Easter, Hallowe’en)

                       Key Stage Discos

                       Leavers Disco (Year 6)

                       Christmas Shop

                       Summer Fair

                       Friday Tuck Shop

                       Wine Tasting (adults only!)

                       Social Evenings

and here are a few examples of how the money was spent:-

                          Overhead Projectors for every classroom

                       New curtains around school

                       Musical Instruments/equipment

A new stage to allow the children to hold concerts

                       Books

We hold meetings once or twice a term to discuss arrangements and make plans.  Both

Mr Elstub (Headteacher) and Mrs Hardaker (Assistant Headteacher) attend these meetings as they believe it is important to listen to parents and discuss their ideas and views.  There is no pressure to attend all of these meetings and help at every event; we all lead busy lives so we appreciate peoples’ limitations.   Every single minute spent helping the PFA really does count towards raising monies for the school and the children.

If you would like to learn more about the PFA, please speak with Mrs Hardaker.  Alternatively, some current members of the PFA would also be happy to answer any of your questions.  Leave your telephone number at the school office and Lisa Wainwright,

Christine Holdsworth or Michelle Bolton will contact you for a chat.

We are a friendly, informal group of people and feel sure you would enjoy being part of our happy team.
